When you asked your school district this question, what did they say?

Katie, if you need help with questions like this, are you sure you're ready to be living on your own? That's kind of basic, don't you think?

I haven't asked the school I will be enrolling in just yet. The principal at the school I am in now told me that I had to have a parent but he also said that I cannot legally move out at 17 WITH parents consent. As far as my research says I am allowed. He may be wrong about both.

Whether you can enroll yourself in school is determined by each individual school district; it's not nationally or even state wide. It's going to be up to the school district whether to allow it or not. We can't answer that question.
