A month and a half before Christmas I discussed getting my children scuba diving lessons with my ex, at the time it was all "oh yeah that sounds like fun". After christmas however she took the study books and paperwork from them and called me telling me that I am not going to drown her kids and no way they would ever dive. When questioned as to why she agreed before, she claimed she meant it would be fun for her to learn. I have spent alot of money on lessons for three children who want to dive. they are 17, 16, and 14. Mother has custody and I have weekly visitation. I have been diving for two years.
Do I have the right to get them certified to scuba dive or does she have the absolute right to tell me what I can and cant do with them on my time? thanks for any responses

Do you have joint legal custody? Are the scuba lessons during your parenting time?

No, she has full custody. all of the training is to be done during my time with them. With the exeption of the children being happy my ex would not be affected in any way shape or form. I am paying child support and paying for all costs associated with diving. I ask her for nothing...ever.

Your time with them is yours. So sure you can have them take lessons on your time. However, she also has every right to forbid them from doing any associated studying, reading, etc on her time.
