What is the name of your state? VA

I am coming off Active Duty with the Military for the past 4 years and was offered a contracted job, however it of course requires a Secret Clearance (at least an interim one to start). I popped on the drug test (marijuana) at MEPS back in July of 01 and had to have a waiver for coming on Active Duty.

My question is I know the waiver is documented in my military records so I will not even try to lie on the SF86, but are my chances good that I will still be approved for a Secret Clearance? It was a one time use, (experimental) in June 01. Everything else on the SF86 is smooth sailing.

Thanks everyone,
MikoZ

If I can get a Top Secret working for the NSA after using Cocaine for a year (and DAMN it was a good year) I don't think one 'pop' is going to hurt. As long as you disclose.

The point here is not to hold anything back.

and, of course it's still up to the contracting agency what they will allow or not. But lying definately won't get you the clearance.

Hell, my interviewing agent did some great Tai stick in the 60s :D
