What is the name of your state? Fl

I have a question regarding secret clearance. I gotten a job with army and got my interim clearance on OCT 2007 and currently waiting for my full clearance. I have an investment property with my other family member. My partner is experience financial difficulty and we might have to foreclosure on our investment. Right now my credit score is about 800 with no debt or late payment. This foreclosure will affect my credit. What do you recommend? Should i talk to my security officer? Should I wait till they give me the clearance then tell them? What is the name of your state?

I would talk to your security officer about the situation. Everything I know about security clearances seems to indicate that honesty and voluntary disclosure is best. EVERYone has problems with family, friends, and life in general. Security clearances are given to those who will not compromise the safety and security of our country, not to those who have perfect, problem-free lives (there would be no security clearances issued at all, if that were the case ;)).

Wait for others to post.

you should be honest. Thats part of the idea behind the clearance.

ALSO you don't have the clearance YET. Much more than good credit is in play.

As for the foreclosure, is there any way you can find another partner to buy out your family member that is having financial difficulty, or is there any way you can refinance the property, based on your excellent credit, to get lower payments that you, alone, can handle?

Banks are stingy when it comes to lending money and refinancing right now, but you may be in a position to consider it and the bank may be willing to consider it - as a foreclosed property is a loss for them, as well, in the current real estate market. Just an idea - and probably one you have mulled over already and rejected :).

Good luck with the security clearance.

I try that option already but the tax is still like 10k per year. I cant afford that. I rather do a short sale or foreclosure on the property. I will call the lender and see what option I have. I will let you guy know the result. I am just worry about the secret clearance. It been 5 month that i have my interim and been on the job. I hope I dont lose my position because my 5 month baby need me to have this job. Wish me luck. Thanks again for all the advice.
