What is the name of your state? Florida
I currently have a secret clearance but I am losing my home due to foreclosure. Is there anything I can do to prevent losing my clearance at this point. The foreclosure is unavoidable.

Your credit history is only one of many factors considered when granting security clearances. I would be honest and up-front about the pending foreclosure on your property. With foreclosures up 57% from last year, and many households experiencing financial hard-times due to the economy, you are not in an unusual situation.

Each security clearance case is judged on its own merits, with doubts being resolved in favor of national security. However, you will be evaluated not just on the foreclosure, which I said is more common now than ever, but on any recurring pattern of questionable judgment or irresponsibility or emotionally unstable behavior. Looked at will be the nature and extent and seriousness of your own personal conduct.

Reporting any problems you may be having voluntarily and honestly works in your favor.

Good luck.
