What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts
OK here is what I am up to in a nut shell. I am a licensed electrician that has not been able to find work and has been on unemployment since July of 08. I had decided a few weeks ago that instead of continuing to search for a job in a dead economy career i would take classes in what i feel should be a stronger field. So i am starting a automotive class on the 30th of this month at MTTI. An i am also getting a part time job. An i applied for section 30.
Now i just want to be sure i got the facts right.
Once classes start i am supposed to(when calling in weekly) say no to questions... have you looked for work and were you able and available for work.
I currently collect 259 a week and the part time job will be getting me about 200 a week. An according to the ui website i can make up to 1/3 what i am collecting without effecting my ui benefits and if you go over 1/3 of your benefits you just deduct the difference from your benefits. So i want to make sure i got it right if i make 200 a week i will still be getting 145 from unemployment?
An will the 114 difference eventually make more weeks i can collect overall?
Thanks in advance for any responses. An this is to just be sure i have my facts straight. I just really cannot afford to screw things up at this point and i would hate to mess up because of a stupid mistake.
