What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts

OK here is what I am up to in a nut shell. I am a licensed electrician that has not been able to find work and has been on unemployment since July of 08. I had decided a few weeks ago that instead of continuing to search for a job in a dead economy career i would take classes in what i feel should be a stronger field. So i am starting a automotive class on the 30th of this month at MTTI. An i am also getting a part time job. An i applied for section 30.

Now i just want to be sure i got the facts right.

Once classes start i am supposed to(when calling in weekly) say no to questions... have you looked for work and were you able and available for work.

I currently collect 259 a week and the part time job will be getting me about 200 a week. An according to the ui website i can make up to 1/3 what i am collecting without effecting my ui benefits and if you go over 1/3 of your benefits you just deduct the difference from your benefits. So i want to make sure i got it right if i make 200 a week i will still be getting 145 from unemployment?

An will the 114 difference eventually make more weeks i can collect overall?

Thanks in advance for any responses. An this is to just be sure i have my facts straight. I just really cannot afford to screw things up at this point and i would hate to mess up because of a stupid mistake.

I think you're going to have to contact the state and ask them. This is probably detailed than any responders here will be able to answer definitively.

i do plan on trying to contact unemployment with these questions but due to how busy it is with the higher unemployment rate it is very difficult to get threw to anyone to ask so i was just hopeing i could find someone who may have been threw any of it and know the facts so i can save myself being on hold on the phone for hours. An that is when it is not so busy that it will tell me to call the next day. I have also tried my local career center (unemployment office) and i had a hard enough time with them trying to figure out who it is that would be helping me with applying for section 30. It makes me scared to go there with my questions cos i think i will waste a whole day there trying to get the answers and still not get answers. Or better yet get the wrong answers.

You report the entire amount you made. The DUA will make the appropriate deductions, you don't. The difference may or may not extend the time you can collect depending on applicable extensions and the weeks available on your claim.
