All people living in subsidised appartments(section 8) have received a letter with new procedures in case their landlord would not want to renew a lease with them, and will start eviction actions.
It happened in NY city. My parents who are elderly people terrified by implications of this letter. We did not have any idea that there is a law which allows a landlord without any particular reason, just because he/she decides to do so evict those low income old people.
My question is: is any new law was accepted resently? Or it existed, but we did not know that? Or which changes in rules occured that made section 8 authorities to issue that letter?
