What is the name of your state? CT.

My wife is a Section 8 reciepient. For about 10 years while she was on section 8, I and a number of other peoole have lived with her and she lied to Section 8 about it. I made more money than Section 8 allowed and I decided to get out of the situation before I got caught in it. Were now going through a divorce, and I want to know if I tell Section 8 the truth now, will I get in trouble with the Goverment for having lived with her or, with the Court for telling on her or both?

What do you think? You want to tell on your wife for the crime that she committed, but in doing so, you really have no expectation of being found out for the crime that YOU committed? Interesting.

You have started four other threads on your marital problems. Keep your questions in one of those.

what crime did I commit? I wasn't on her section 8 and it wasn't my responsibility to report any changes in income to them. she was the one who lied to them not me.

Thanks for your help. I guess in being a prosecuter you become numb to the problems of others. I'ts nice to have someone of your experience helping those less knowledgable than you. next time reply to the question at hand and keep you irrelivant opinions to yourself.

She may have applied, but you were married to her. You KNOWINGLY benifitted from the fraud that YOU BOTH were taking part in. (An OMISSION, is not an and error when you KNOW you are being omitted!)

if you didn't know that you were doing something that was wrong, why did you decide to "get out of the situation before you got caught in it" and how do you know you were "making more money than Section 8 allowed" . Oh sure, telling everyone that you have stolen benefits from the government in order to prove that someone else has, is a dandy idea, for the rest of us, but maybe not for you. I say, you stand right up in court and tell them exactly what you have told us here.

What will the judge advocates say.

What is the name of your state? Conn.

I am a fireman divorcing after 18 years of marrige my wife is disabled. I've been on the Dept for 11 years so I have a vested intrest in the pension and a deferred comp plan. We have two minor children who live with me. I've been grossing 1200 a week for the past 3 years and I have 550 after taxes and the mortgage payment. My wife is on SSI (600/mo) and Section 8, (she pays 80 dollars a month in rent). She and her lawyers want 300 a week and half of the deferred comp and pension. Or 200 a week half the pension and instead of half the deferred comp, they want me to provide her with a car 7 years or younger and pay for the repair upkeep and insurance on the vehicle. I offered to give her half the pension and deferred comp, and 150 a week so she can pay her bills and keep up a car on her own. We have a Judge Advocate's meeting coming up and I would like to know which side the Advocates would say is more right.?

I'd like to know how wifey got section 8 to begin with. You have been married for 18 years, and have been a fireman for 11.

OP do you live with your wife now? If not, how long has it been since you lived there? When did she starting receiving the housing assistance? Your posts are not clear...you say you got out because of the Section 8, but then in your other thread you say that the the children live with you (which indicates you have been living apart for some time).
