What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
i have been with a section 8 property for a year, then i filled out a request for a voucher to move, which is what you need to move into another s8 property. I have been sexually harrassed by these subhuman drug addict animals since ive been here, the workers AND the residents. when i was in the elevator with 3 men and they were joking about how they would gang rape me, that was my final straw to stop overlooking their socizal retardation. I told my section 8 worker, the manager, the owner and told them i wanted to move asap. the section 8 worker and the manager told me i was free to move. all the men here are sexually active with each other (i used to be friends with the gay men in this building) and they all stick together, the married and "straight" ones. im so sick of living here i cant stand it. I have considered just taking off and moving to another state, but i feel like that would be running, so i dont want to do that. i feel like i am owed to be treated like a human and this situation to be handled like its government responsiblity. i have found out how to report this situation to the section 8 authority (executive director) but i am not expecting that person to act any different than the rest of the employees. these people are so uncivilized how they act or respond to anything!

So what do you expect us to do?

I knew a woman who constantly complained about the place where she lived. Some of the tenants (according to her) put pornographic pictures on their front doors and competed to see who could put up the "best" ones. The place was overrun by rats. The manager was "on something." A man murdered his girlfriend on the premises. I asked her why she didn't move, she told me she was too "lazy."

Either move or deal with your current surroundings.

Why are you on Section 8?
Do you work?
Do you have children and is the father(s) contributing to THEIR support?
What was the response to your application for the move?
