My mother has lived in the same apartment in NH for 30 years. When she moved there, she was required to give a $200.00 security deposit. Now, because of the condition of the apartment, and the landlords' failure to fix anything, she wants to move. When she first met the landlord, 30 years ago, he told her that her deposit would go into a bank account where it would collect interest. He died several years ago and his son inherited the many properties, which have all been badly neglected since. She would like to know if she's entitled to the 30 years worth of interest that her deposit SHOULD have accumulated. Can anyone help?

If she has that in writing yes. If not, but she had proof that she paid the deposit and State law requires interest to be paid to T, then she gets it. Check the State L/T laws. I hope she can hit the jackpot with this one.
