Security Deposit Runaround

My roommate and I lived in a condo in NJ for 4 years. The lease was up 11/1/00. We provided 30 day notice that we would not be renewing. Today is 1/11/01 and still have not received our security deposit. I called on 12/11 and was told that the mgmt co. did not know where the escrow was being held. Current mgmt. co. is not the original mgmt. co. we rented from. I faxed them a copy of where the deposit is being held from an old lease on 12/13. I was told it would be sent by the end of the week. I called back on 12/27 and was told it was sent out on 12/22. I called back on 1/10 and was told there was a mix up in Accounting.

Please advise.

FAX them a letter, then send one Certified mail return reciept ...... stating they have 3 days to cut you a check for the FULL amount of the deposit or you will take them to court, because your records are correct and theirs is not!
