State of Ohio. Our landlord wanted to put the condo up for sale 6 months into our lease. we verbally agreed that he could put it up for sale if the lease would be changed to month to month. He went ahead and put it up for sale and after 1 month of showing the condo 4 days a week we gave our 30 day notice. Now he will not give us our deposit back and says he never agreed to month to month and it turns out that he endid up re-renting the condo 2 days after we left.Where do we stand.
Thanks

Do you ever read your lease?

Do you ever stop and think, DUH why is it the landlord always wants more money? Because YOU broke the lease!

Do you ever stop and think, well what happens if the LANDLORD wanted to break the lease? Hmmmm the Landlord would have to PAY YOU to move!

Technically YOU BROKE THE LEASE...........

You will have to sue the landlord in small claims court for the depoist back, you will get some of it, since the landlord must provide in writing all deuctions within 30 days after tyou vacate, and he cannot collect rent from both you and the new tenant UNLESS the lease says there is a one month penalty for breaking the lease WHICH YOU DID!

So what does your lease say?
