Hi, I have a rental housing matter in AZ that i wanted some advice on. The landlord is refusing to return my deposit payment. I had signed a lease with this apartment complex and was supposed to move in on a certain day. On the day of my move-in i kept waiting for them all day but they never showed up. I made more than 10 calls to get hold of them but they rarely returned my calls. At one point late in the evening they did and promised to show up at that time but it never happened. Finally, after trying my heart best, i gave up very late in the evening. Because of all this, the tons of stuff that i was carrying with me had to be mishandled at times, let alone the inconvenience i had to go through. After talking to some of the current residents of the apartment community and after bearing this experience, i decided that i didnt wanna live there anymore. so now i am asking that my initial deposit be returned. I wanna know that do i have a better chance of getting it or because i didnt get what i was promised, or do they have a better chance of keeping it because i signed a lease. Please advice...
Thank you
