We closed on a house 4/12/00, here it is 4/22/00 and we can't get the seller to even talk to us, and they will not vacate the house. There was no agreement in the closing that allowed them to remain in the house, yet they retain possession with no sign of moving. Help! Live in Louisiana, could be source of a lot of our problems, they only protect the criminals around here..

Smart buyers insist that the home be vacant at time of closing in the purchase contract, just for that reason. Now you'd have to bring an eviction action to get them off -- and I don't know about LA. law, but these generally are not fun.
