What is the name of your state? Minnesota

I live in Minnesota and am considering purchasing a 1965 Mustang convertible from a old car dealer in Georgia.

The car needs a total restoration; parts have been removed but are still available, engine doesn't run etc.

Dealer does not have a title for this vehicle, but they do have a bill of sale from the previous owner.

Would the dealer be able to obtain a title for this car and transfer it to me upon sale so that I may register it in Minnesota? Should I buy this car without a title or will the bill of sale do?

Thank you for your assistance

I wouldn't buy the car without a valid title. Yes, you could just take the bill of sale, along with a copy of the previous one to the dealer, and probably register it. But the headaches of doing that really aren't worth it IMHO.

Titles for old Mustangs are easy to find, Google "mustang clubs" and you will find sites with message boards. Ask there and you will be directed in the right direction. The VIN on 60's Mustangs (all Fords actually) is located on the driver's door. The person that sells you the title will also sell you a replacement VIN plate too. In the classic car community, rolling good titles to other cars is a common practice.
