What is the name of your state? California
I signed a three month contract with an agent that is proving incompetent and untrustworthy. I live in another state and have serious concerns about leaving the property in this person's hands. Can I interview other realtors while under contract? What steps should I take if I decide it is necessary to fire the realtor. I am only a few weeks tnto the contract. - SD

You can interview other Realtors during the contract period, but you have a relationship with your current one. He will have damages if you breach that contract. You must decide if that is an efficent breach or not.

If the realtor is not the principal broker in the agency you have listed with, call the principal broker and express your concerns. The broker would have the power to change realtors for you within his own brokerage house. Since your contract is actually with the brokerage house, there will be no breach of contract.

That's my basic answer. All the information about cancelling your contract should be addressed in the listing agreement.
