What is the name of your state? Virginia

Just wondering if its legal to sell public information as a list even without permission from a company/ person?

example: I compile a list of auto dealers and sell it online, without asking permission to add those auto dealers , their addresses and phone numbers.

I know info is sold all the time, just wanted to ask and see if there was any legalities to it.

thanks in advance

Most auto dealers have trademarked names, it is illegal to sell anything that is trademarked without the owner's permission.
