What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington

I saw a similar post below, but mines a bit different..

So I bought something off of ebay. Value around $1000. a little less.

He advertised it for $800... but turns out it was over $900. The way he got away with this is that he is selling the item from ove seas in Asia... he said the US price is approximately so much... but after paypal was done.. it turned out to be a lot more.

i argued with him.. but it's like he did it intentionally, and in the end, i guess i could have double checked the math. but he did mis-advertise a bit.

ANYWAY...

I receive the product...
5 days later.. another one of the same product arrives... he sent two by accident. karma's a bitch =)

2 days later, i receive an angry email from the guy.

"send it back to me! i sent you 2 by mistake! if you don't send it back, i'll have USPS do an investigation and have you accused!" this is all in broken English.

1. This guy screwed me over.. so natural inclination is to screw him over too, but I know that's not how our legal system works.

2. Am I doing something illegal by keeping the item? It was due to the mistake of this man in Asia... (let's keep morality out of it for a second).

3. How does international suing work? If he wanted to sue me, but he lives in asia.. how does that work?

The guy is a jerk, but you are obligated to send the second one back.
Suing form asia would be involved, but that doesn't make it legal or moral for you to keep the item.

Yes, send the second one back, but get him to pay for the shipping first. If you think him suing you for $900 is hard, just think about trying to recover $50 from him if he tries to stiff you after you send it.

Instead of $50 for shipping, you should probably charge whatever he charged you for shipping the first one. If he is entitled to a handling charge, why wouldn't you?

Q. What should I do if the unordered merchandise I received was the result of an honest shipping error?

A. Write the seller and offer to return the merchandise, provided the seller pays for postage and handling. Give the seller a specific and reasonable amount of time (say 30 days) to pick up the merchandise or arrange to have it returned at no expense to you. Tell the seller that you reserve the right to keep the merchandise or dispose of it after the specified time has passed.
