Separation / Divorce

State: New York
My wife left me on January 22, 2001 for another man. I have begged and pleaded with her to come home. We have spoken almost every day and have even spent some time together, but she still will not leave her boyfriend and come back home. She has no grounds against me for a divorce and she knows that. She filed for a separation on April 9, 2001, but I am not agreeable to it and will not sign it. She has not insisted that I sign it anyways. I have two questions:
1.) What can happen if I refuse to sign the separation?
2.) If I start to date someone, would that give her grounds for a divorce or is that considered "equal grounds", thus denying her from using adultery as her grounds for divorce. I do not want a separation or a divorce, but I have been alone now for over 3 months and may want to start seeing other people. I just don't want to give her the opportunity to file for divorce.
