My ex and I drew up our own separation agreement (New Jersey) and had it signed in front of a notary. No lawyer was involved. The separation agreement was never entered as part of the final divorce decree. Is it valid?

My response:

No. Not until a judge approves and signs it.

If you're not familiar with Marriage Settlement Agreements, dollars to dimes it was written very poorly.
