My wife of 6 yrs is seeking a legal separation. We live in Washington state. It is a friendly matter so far. We have divided all the household goods & she only wants $600-800/mo. for a year in support, & 1/2 the house equity & 1/2 our stocks. We are currently deciding the equity value & support amounts. The whole amount payable to her ranges from $12k-$20k. I have mentioned I'd be willing to settle for $12k-15k lump sum. How do I determine the amount of support? If we divorce later can she come back after my resources? She is a working accountant & has her own bene's retirement, etc. Also she has purchased a new condo to live in which will be built in 90 days, so she is living with me in our house, which I intend to keep. Am I being fair to her & protecting myself for future?
