In Oregon what do you need to do to be legally separated? C
My response:
You file a Petition for Separation. Instead of checking the box that says "Dissolution", you check the box that says "Separation". The cost is the same, but really is a waste of time. Unless you have some religious or tax situation that would cause you to file for Separation, then you're better off just filing for Dissolution.
If you're filing for Separation, just remember that if you want a divorce later on down the line, you'll have to start the process all over again, and pay an attorney all over again. May as well get it done right the first time.
