ny state resident, over 20 yrs married, spouse left state 10 months ago, minor children are w/me. spouse sends no money. want to buy a home, but a separation agreement is needed. how to do this painlessly and least expensively? thanks....this is all new to me.

Since this is "new" to you, and you're thinking of buying a house, then in that instance you REALLY need to speak with an attorney. Most Family Law attorneys will give you a free intitial consultation, and discuss the types of legal avenues you can take to accomplish child support ordered payments, and to protect your interests in the purchase of Real Property.
