What is the name of your state? Missouri

We live in a great house that we love but are having some serious issues with the landlord that are going to cuase us to move and I wanted to know what legal rights we have vs. what legal rights the landlord has in regards to some issues ....

The landlord still gets his mail at our home and is in our mailbox on a daily basis. Is this really legal? We have told him we don't feel comfortable with it but he refuses to get a PO Box.

When we moved in he told us that the garage wouldn't be available because his office was out there and he kept paperwork and tools and stuff out there ... what he didn't tell us is that he would spend more time in the garage than we spend in the house and that he'd be sucking up electricity and cable that we get to pay for. Can he really do this stuff or is there something we can do about it?

You could get a mailbox and put a lock on it , or a PO box yourselves .

You can buy a shredder for all papers being thrown out .

As far as Electric ? What does your lease state about utilities ?

You can give proper written notice and move.....just as you suggest.

If you want to remain, offer your landlord IN WRITING to get your own post office box for $X and get an energy audit for your electricity use and have him pay for the pobox and the overage in electrical use and DEDUCT it from your rent.
