Brought car to one dealership who stated the fix was not covered under powertrain. We didn't believe that after reading the warranty so we called around to another dealership stating the problem and that the dealership it was currently at wouldn't fix under powertrain. This other dealership insisted it was gave the codes to enter into the computer, but the other dealership stated only was covered 2011-2012. So we called the other dealership that insisted it was covered back and they continued to insist it was covered and agreed to do the work. We brought it to this other dealership who did the work next day and sent us on our way with the reciept saying everything was covered under powertrain warranty and we didn't owe any money obviously. So 3 weeks later they're calling back saying in fact it wasnt covered and only covered 2011-2012 and now they want to know if we have an extended warranty to submit a claim. I can only assume due to that message left they want us to pay for it. Is this even right and can they do this? It was their mistake and I'd they couldn't fix it, I would have brought it to my mechanic who would have done it cheaper. Not to mention I don't have the money upfront it would cost to have it fixed there as they were way more expensive. I don't find this fair at all, as they weren't my only option and now i feel like i was set up so they could get paid at their dealership. Please give me some advice!

Please give me some advice!
You have a piece of paper from the dealership that says covered under warranty, nothing to pay for.

Call them back and tell them they can eat their mistake.

Just don't get into any conversations about who's who and what's what.

Be brief and hang up.
