I'm in Georgia. My landlord has sent me via email an estimate that I owe him 320.00. he's not saying anyting was damaged. he's said he had to paint and it cost him over 1100.00 to paint. the house is about 1200 SQ FT. anyway, I reminded him the house was not painted when I moved in. he was not the person who showed me the house and he was not the person did the walk out. The lady he sent to do the walk out said everything looked fine and she will relay this to the landlord. I contact the lady who I did the walk throough with and she said she was lost and knew nothing about the LL trying to get me to pay for painting. she told me she did tell him the house was fine. she asked to call me back so she can contact him. When she calls me back she said the LL told her the paint request was not from the walk throuogh that I did with her but the walk through he got from the prospective tenant. this tenant requested he painted the house.... now my problem is this. I filed in small claims court. the marshall was unable to serve him due to him having a gate around his home. He works out of the country on assignment and you never know when he will be in town. I can't find anything about the statute of limitations to how long until has to be served and does anyone know the best way to serve someone who is in another country?
