I have a servicemark in the state of IL, for example Microcomputer Training Center, The other company has a servicemark for Micro-computer. They got their servicemark first.
Their core business is in computer harware but they also do computer training, they have a service mark for both hardware and training. We are Il State Board Approved vocational training school, the other company is not. According to State law this means that they can only do business with corporations and not individuals.
Their attorney says that our servicemark infringes our their servicemark.
Does anyone have an opinion that could help us find out what our options are.

At this point, contact the U.S.P.T.O directly and request their evaluation. If you can get someone there to give you an opinion, have them put it in writing (if it favors you of course) and put on their letterhead and send to you.
