personal property dispute

My mother gave me a piece of furniture over one year ago and I have it in my home. Now she wants it back after I paid to have it restored. This was a gift and no paperwork was drawn up when she gave it to me. Does she have any grounds on reclaiming this piece of furniture?

Hand her copy of the reciepts for the cost of restoration and tell her , you gave it to me with no strings attached as to your getting it back , your asking for it back now that its fixed isnt fair so what I want from you is for you to pay for the repairs or the chair stays where it is. if she wont agree to pay the cost then I guess it stays put. will she be happy , no , will she see the error of giving it with no strings , who knows.
