My son's settlement (state of CO) will not be awarded until the age of 18. Can I have the insurance co. move/transfer the settlement to an investment account?

It is probably holding the proceeds at interest and you should make sure the rate is a good one aithout a cond fair. BUT without a court order they won't move it to to stock, and even with a court order they may not as the courts are more concerned about return OF than return ON principal, and imagine if you'd invested in dot coms 18 months ago.....
