What is the name of your state? NC
If my Sevis is expired , can i extend my student visa? will sevis affect the extension?i have applied for renewal of sevis though.

Your question was quite incomplete. Did you SEVIS 1-20 expire because you finished your degree or you are continuing student but the school failed to give you a new I-20 on time?

Either way, my advice would be, don't do nothing till you get a valid SEVIS I-20. Just stay put. Once you have a valid SEVIS, you can try renewing your visa, etc.
