Purchased first home-closed within past month-moved in 2 weeks ago the toilets and showers were backing up after a week-had plumbers out to "snake sewerline twice but did not work had another contractor out who did sewer cam-root intrusion and severe joint damage done from house to city property cap for a total of 71 feet. Years of damage and it was not disclosed to us and we also had 2 inspections done. city still has home on septic and will claim no responsibilty for the city damage because a permit was never filed and paid to change to sewer but they were charging sellers for sewer service? I found out from neighbor sellers husband "not on home title" was a plumber and put the line in himself. Damages are exceeding $20,000 and my attorney is on vacation-both realtors are aware but the sellers agent refuses to speak to me-telling my realtor to put complaint in writing but does not want us to file lawsuit. if i have a case how quickly should i file? in a jam with attorney out of town Please help! i cannot flush my toilets!

Order those construction or fair Porta-Potties.

Either wait for your attorney to get back or find another one. If the attorney is only going to be gone of a week or two, you have time to file for litigation. Sorry you have to put up with the crap.
