Don't know if I am in the right place to post but here it goes.

I know someone who is reg. sex offender and I also know the victim. The victims family has a tape of the sex offenders confession to police and has made several copies and is giving it out to people. The sex offender is getting out of jail next month.

The sex offender was convicted on attempted molestation of a child that happened over 15 years ago when he was in his upper teens. The victim was not raped she stated she was not in her own video tape to the police but is now passing out these video's of the sex offender confession and stating she was.

Is this harassment? Is the victim breaking the law by passing out police taped video of the sex offender?

It has went as far has a person bringing the a copy of this tape to the sex offenders house and telling the wife to watch it, I believe this is not right and is harassment to the sex offenders family. I believe this is all because the sex offender is only a level one. There is alot to this story in fact many lies was told on the victims side, the sex offender was only convicted on his conffession in which this person went to the police himself and gave it.

I am not sticking up for any sex offenders this is not the typical case this person has been around many children and has even raised 6 step children who are adults and can say they have never been touched by this person, five of then are girls and are standing behind this person.

Again is what the victim is doing is it wrong and can charges be brought against this person?

Thank you
Jade

Hell No. Your friend is a sex offender. He should really be in jail for the rest of his life. Everyone should have a right to see that tape. I make dvd copies of it and send it to everyone who lives in that city. I dont blame the victim.

The taped confession was part of the case against your 'friend' and therefore public record. How the victim got a copy is irrelevant. It's perfectly legal for the tape to be distributed.

I am confused... How is it this person raised all these children who are now adults.... and yet he was in his upper teens with this happened?

Is he being release from jail on these charges now? 15 years later?

Sex offenders really do have very few rights these days. My state just passed a law that went into effect this month that anyone convicted of a felony sex offense will have a GPS system for the rest of their life, if and when they get out of jail. Megan's Law effectively abolished all rights any convicted sex offender may have wished of having. Any one can find out where an ex offender lives and with very few extreme limits pretty much do and say whatever they wish.

Your friend is a very, very, sick individual. There is no proven cure for sex-offenders. The only cure is the electric chair, or lethal injection.

poor things ... they're afraid of standing in front of this big pervert ...

...and, hopefully, for the rest of his life, he'll have to register as a sex offender; and, his address (& crime) will be listed on the website for sex offenders, for all the world to see & know him & his crime..... he earned this resume.

One of the best punishments are embarrsment....I was in SC for a few years and On their billboards they picture and give height, weight, all known names and aliases, and the nature of their offense.

Across the bottom of the billboard under all of this info it reads "And I live -- miles from this sign" (enter whatever in the mileage...the closest I have seen is 5 miles)

I thought it was great.

All states should do that.
