What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Wisconsin

I recently became aware that someone I used to work with has been spreading lies about me for quite some time and is continuing to do so.

He has been spreading a rumor that I slept with his friend ... and although he denied it, I am quite sure that his friend is spreading the same lie. The thing is, it is my understanding that if you want to bring a slander suit against someone, you have to be able to PROVE that what the person said is false.

How on earth can I prove that? I know that nothing even remotely romantic happened between us ... and Lord knows that they (these guys) know it, but how can I prove it? Or is there any way to get around that?

These people are ruining my reputation and good name in the store where I work. They have told many people ... during work and outside of work. I will be very upset if there's nothing I can do about this. How dare someone defame me and bring my good morals into question. The things they are saying are absolutely FALSE and I need to defend myself and show people that you can't lie and be deceitful and malicious and get away with it.
Please help!
