Screwed out of contract

I sued a city intenty and a supervisor for sexual harrassment and won the case. From my understanding, we were not to discuss the suit or the settlement. I bid on a Billing contract with a different city and was denied becuause I had sued another city. One of the employees that works for the original city that I sued hates me too no end and I have heard from a friend that works for the city that I bid on, the employee that hates me informed the City Manager that I had sued. Is that illegal? I just screwed out of a $90,000.00 profit contract because of this crap. Can I sue the employee that opened her mouth? Can I re-sue the City? Please Help!!:(

It sounds as if the lawyer who helped you win the first case knows what he or she is doing. That's where you should now turn. The comments may have breached the settlement agreement.

Sorry, but I (probably) disagree with 'ALawyer' on this one.

In your case, the terms of settlement may have been sealed, but not the fact that you had sued another city. That lawsuit is public record. And it is very possible that someone (even in another city) may have heard of the FACT that you had sued. That in itself would not be a violation of any 'secrecy' agreement.

In fact, you can very probably go down to the same courthouse and look at your file, seeing all the parties and even most (if not all) of the filings. The only "FACT" that you won't see is the settlement agreement and final disposition, other than 'suit dismissed with prejudice'.
