What is the name of your state? WA

I was caught shoplifting. The total of what i stole was less then 8 dollars.
My first offense. They said i would need to pay a fine, any logical guesses on how much it would be?

thanks

More than $8 dollars!
Try again CD, maybe with "newer" eyes.

In the state of Washington, the value of the property stolen is but one cost allowed under Washington’s civil shoplifting law, RCW 4.24.230, The CORRECT penalty is in the amount of the stolen item; $8, and there is an additional of $100 (this additional penalty can be any amount between $100 and $200 at the merchant’s discretion), for a total of between $108 and $208.

Furthermore, court costs and legal fees may be attached to any civil penalty assessed. Also, if there were any damages to store property during the theft and/or apprehension of the suspect, those costs can also be taxed to the individual.
