Virginia:
I recently had an incredible ordeal with my car dealership, and specifically, their service dept. manager over something illegal they did with my car. To make a long story short, they went joy-riding in my car when I dropped it off overnight for an oil change, put 40 miles on the odometer, then lied about it when I picked it up.
They agreed to give me a new clutch when it needs to be replaced, plus a free oil change. I agreed to the offer.
I belong to an online car forum where people talk about both negative and positive experiences with their car dealerships. I've been talking openly, and only telling the truth, about my particular experience with this service department and manager who has treated me so awfully.
He recently called me and threatened me, I assume with a lawsuit (even though he didn't specify, just said he would "take it to the next level" if I post something about him again). I only told the truth, and even have a witness who was there with me during my harrowing encounter with this guy.
Can this guy really do anything to me? I have only told the truth, and feel like I'm providing a public service, or warning to others who may be taking their cars into this dealership.
Any advice would be appreciated.
