What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona.
I have a contract to do some computer works in Phoenix, AZ. The company is based in Denver, CO. The communication were done over email and phone. It's been about 2 months since I've done the work for them and they have not paid me yet, it's about $1000. They keep making excuses and promised to pay but they have not done so. Now they're ignoring my emails and phone calls. How do I file a small claim against them?I live in AZ and they're in CO. What should I do? any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks

You should file your action in their state in order to minimize the process of pursuing their assets.
If you were to file and get a judgment in Arizona, you would have to domesticate to their state to access their assets there.

Thank you for your reply. The work I've done was in AZ. Is there any way I can do to file it in AZ? because It's almost not worth it if I have to fly over for the court date and all the expenses. I'm currently unemployed right now and I just can't afford any more cost. Thank you

I've filed a small claim and sent it to them via certified restricted mail. It's been 3 weeks and I have not received the green card mail nor the envelop back from the post office. Could them (defendant) refuse my claim? or ignore it? in that case what should I do next? Thank you for the advices.

Go to your local post office and see the status of delivery. It once took over a year to have a certified letter delivered that was to the next town, less than a mile away.
