My 18 yr old son is in jail for accomplice to armed robbery right now and has been for three weeks. Some people are coming forward to say they would like to help him by offering personal recommendations to the judge. These people are leaders in our community that know he is not a violent person, but got caught up with his buddy in a huge, stupid mistake. Their goal is to have him sent to a rehab prison in another state. Should I get in touch further with these people or let them go on their own? His sentencing date is March 15th. I do not want him to go unpunished for this horrible crime, but I know he would do better at his young age, to go to a rehabilitation prison or something of that nature. I feel guilty enough to go ahead and encourage it, but will it help his case at all?
