My ex got a car in the divorce, in California. Payments weren't made and the car was repossesed. The creditors are coming after me to pay $8000. I have to have the truck I have now for work, and I owe more than $15,000 on that. I have no assests other than a TV. With my rent being over $1000 a month, and my car payment being over $300, along with my car insurance every month, I am barely making it by as it is with $15 an hour salary. My friend said that I could file bankruptcy and I wouldn't have to pay that $8000. Is that possible? Can I file Chapter 7 although I have no assests. Help, Please.
