What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

We bought a house in October 2014. The previous owners had renovated the entire house, and also installed a French drain in the basement to prevent flooding, and around the outside of the house that the downspouts drain into. The pipe they have placed to drain water, drains right into our neighbors gravel driveway. This is causing issues. Do we have a right to see if the previous owners can pay for the repairs since they were the ones that installed it incorrectly? Or is it now "our problem" since we are the current owners. We just want to know if we should contact a lawyer.
We obviously do not want to cause problems with our neighbors since we just moved in.

Thanks in advance!!

Unless the prior owners knew about a serious problem and intentionally did not disclose this to you - and you can prove this, this is now your problem. You bought the house as you inspected it or could have inspected it.

You want to "contact" a lawyer so "you" won't cause "problems" with your neighbor?

Well I suppose that would be okay; PROVIDED, i. e., you were to hire a lawyer capable of returning your property to the condition that it existed before your seller performed the alterations that disrupted the normal flow of drainage water.
