Its been a 37 days since my lease has expired...I know my landlord has 30 days to contact me about my security deposit - but hasn't...NOW what do I do!? He doesn't live in the state where I have his address and phone number (where I lived - Florida) - no machine on... should I send a letter? (it would then be forwarded to him in his home state)

I suppose. I hope that it will be delivered to him.

Mark the envelope: Address Service Requested.
Ask in the Post Office if they still accept that, and if there is any fee.

Check your state laws. I know where I live, if the landlord doesn't return either the deposit or an itemized list of what he used it for within thirty days of you vacating the proiperty, he has to return the whole thing and can't keep it
