My husband and i entered into a one year lease on June 15 at a condo in Ohio. In September we were notified that the owner planned on selling the condo before the end of the year. We spoke to a lawyer and he said that our lease was legally binding even if ownership transfered and that if the owner wanted to break the lease we should be able to get 2 months rent and moving expenses. That amounted to about $3000 but he was only willing to give us $1000. So we said we wanted to stay til June 15, 2001 when our lease was up. Ever since September, the owner's real estate agent has been showing our condo between 1 and 4 times a week. It is a huge inconvenience for our family to have people looking at our place and i am just plain fed up with it. They originaly told us they would give us 24 hrs notice when they scheduled an apointment which they haven't been doing. My husband and i are tired of strangers coming, tracking snow in, leaving lights on all over the condo, and inconveniencing our lives when we are not getting any benefits and when the condo won't be available til we move out. Can we legally tell them that they can't show our condo until we move out even though we don't own the place? Please advise.
