What is the name of your state? NY
I am a Resident Assistant in a male freshman dorm. As background, I have never been rude or mean in my conduct with any of my residents, nor violated any policies. The only times I have done anything that could be construed negative are occasionally, very politely, asking residents to lower the volume of their music or close their doors because it is inappropriately loud or during designated "quiet hours." Over the last 2 weeks, nearly everytime I return to my room, there is a new substance on the door or something placed in front of it. There has been a chair from a different floor and the other side of the building inappropriately removed from the computer lab and placed in front of my door, as well as newspapers and a sock right in front of it. My door has been sprayed with shaving cream, splattered with some kind of pasta-like sauce, and my door handle was covered in some sticky substance like maple syrup. I find my viewer/peephole covered by signs, band-aids, and chewed gum. I do not know who has been doing this, (no one around wants to tell me) but if I find out, can I press charges? I am very tired of this and it has been distracting me from schoolwork. I'm not sure, but does this count as harassment or vandalism?

Report each incident to the university police and let them deal with it.

You're dealing with children who think they are adults. Just don't bother getting upset.
