I am writing on behalf of a friend from NJ. To be brief - my friend started a job 11/08/00. She informed her employer in early Feb. that she was pregnant. Sincer her start date to this point she has only been completely absent for work 2 times and has left early here and there for doctors appts. Usually only 5-10 minutes early if anymore she comes in to make up the time. Shortly after she told them she was pregnant they made her sign a form that stated if she was completely absent one more time between then and June she would be fired. She was so upset she signed it without thinking. She has cysts in her stomach and some days can barely get out of bed but forces herself to so she doesn't get fired. The constant stress and exhaustion is taking it's toll. She recently found out that if a person is pregnant or on disability they cannot be denied the right to take necessary days off for appointments or sick days. Is this true and does she have a case?
