What is the name of your state? Maryland

Everyone knows of eBay.com and how it's an online auction site.

What would happen if i opened up a pretty similar site and called it

"mtBay.com"? Would eBay chase after me? thanks

Please try to keep all your posts together. It's very confusing and will result in no one wanting to wade through each of them to give you an answer.

Now, as to this specific question, a similar name in itself is not grounds for eBay to come after you. However, if you start an auction site with the same look and feel and a similar name then yes, they could have a cause of action.

eBay could pursue a claim for trademark infringement, arguing that your name is "confusingly similar" to their name.

I would need more facts before I could advise you.
