I live in an apartment in aurora, co and for the last 4 months I have had a water leak coming up thru the floor between my kitchen and dinning room I have notified the office several times and have documented each time I have had them here they first accused my dog of wetting there but I had my neighbor clean the spot w/ his cleaner and placed a garbage bag under the carpet. the carpet stayed dry except where there was no bag now the boiler which is on thru other side of the wall is leaking into my place again (this has happened several times this year) I have about a 1/4" of water in my bedroom floor and it has ruined my dresser which is about 40 years old.
I told them last Friday afternoon about the leak and then again on Saturday morning and as of sun night it is still leaking
my current lease is up on aug 28 but they had me sign a new lease last week which starts 09/06 and my rent is going up 40.00 last wed I stepped in the wet spot in the kitchen and when I stepped on the linoleum I slipped and fell.
I am handicapped as it is and I cant afford to get hurt again because I have no one to take care of me but me, I want out of the apartment I'm tired of bailing water.i have many wittness to these facts and pictures

Why would you sign a new lease so that you could continue living in those conditions? Please don't respond that you were "forced."

Call the building inspector who's probably located in Denver and explain the situation to him or her. You need a professional to examine the problem.

I agree. Or even have the problem fixed yourself and then take it off the rent.(as long as you have notified and taken proper steps IN WRITING about the problem)

The mold has got to be overrun in that place.:eek:

I was going to question the "sign a new lease" part of your post Hot Topic, because there is no mention of that...but the OP keeps referring to the "last year"....not the "last four months" or "since I moved in"....

Why anyone would sign/renew a lease with the place being in that condition is just plain crazy or stupid! I hope it is the former.

Ummmm second paragrph where the OP says (they had me sign a new lease last week which starts on 9/06)
