What is the name of your state? Georgia

My sister-in-law, who lives in Ohio, has told my wife that she received an email from me last week stating things about her and saying that I would forbid my wife and daughter from ever seeing her again. She did not, and will not, send my wife a copy of this letter.

I have assured my wife that I knew nothing of this email until my wife told me of it. I have pleaded with my wife and mother-in-law and brother-in-law to get this email for me but they refuse. My mother-in-law and brother-in-law also live in Ohio.

My wife and her sister are very close and now my wife says that she wants a divorce.

This is definitely a case of defamation of my character in my opinion.

What legal actions if any can I take to get this email and have it examined by experts to see where it actually came from?

Sounds like a conspiracy. Why would you even want to stay married to this woman?

we've had some great times together. we have built up alot and have a business together plus we have a beautiful, wonderful 3 year-old girl.

But I see your point and am considering to let the divorce proceed as she wishes.

That said, I want to clear my name of this and make my sister-in-law pay for what she has done to me. She shouldn't be allowed to do this and then gloat later that she caught me a lesson.

It's not only hurting me, my wife is hurting also.

How could you force her to produce the e-mail? She could just say she has deleted it. The fact that it is her word against yours and your wife is siding with her should tell you a lot about your marriage.

so the only reason for the divorce is this mysterious email that no one will produce? If no, then you have no basis to sue your sister in law for anything.

Has your wife asked to see the email?

You have no case against your sister-in-law, but you'd better "lawyer up" and prepare yourself for your snake of a wife to try to take everything she can from you...including your daughter.

An update to this issue.
I showed my wife last night how an email can be traced. I showed how to look at the headers and even linked her to a site that parced the header and told her where it came from. I let her do it herself.
I know she tried to get her sister to do it with that email because she asked me again how to do it and her sister was online with her.
Well guess what? Her sister deleted the email!
My wife has admitted to me that she now believes me but is still holding out that it could have could from somewhere else, perhaps her brother playing a mean-spirited joke. I think her sister did then deleted it when she realized I knew how, and wanted to trace it.
She is torn between her tight bond with her sister and with me.
We are trying to solve the other issues and she is coming around loosing up a little at a time.

**A: try marriage counseling.

What...she thinks she can't have a family and a jealous sister at the same time? She just needs to put her sister in her place...down the line past her husband and her children.
