What is the name of your state? Georgia
So here it is. I am an hospital chaplain intern of sorts and signed up to do a year residency with a group of other interns. Our residency includes lots of time in group talking about our past as well as individual supervision which can become quite intimate because of the nature of what is being shared. One of my fellow interns who over the course of my residency I have come to believe has serious emotional issues accused my supervisor of sexual harassment. The evidence is so flimsy it is laughable and all who work in my department unanimously agree that the charges are false. There was also an incident preceding the charges being brought where the intern in question didn't like the way our supervisor handled an incident and "wanted to punish" him. My supervisor has been doing his job for over 15 years without a single mark on his record. Yesterday the hospital fired my supervisor. We are all pissed to say the least.
Now the intern and I are of the same religious denomination and I know that he is going to be appointed to his first church in a few months. I want to write a letter to his superiors to at least give them a heads up that they may want to look more closely at this person before they come in and wreak havoc in a church the way they have done here.I have a feeling that he is not going to even mention this incident to them because he had already recieved my supervisor's recommendation. He has destroyed our residency group and a good man's reputation. I know how our sytem works. It is a bit of a good ole boys network and I know that he will slide right into an appointment at some unsuspecting church. If i write a letter to his superiors voicing my concern about him being assigned to a church so soon after such an incident could I be sued for libel? If I did write the letter should I just be vague to avoid libel?
Thanks for your help
