my husband and I teach in ks. we just moved here and are not tenured which means they do not have to give a reason to fire us. my husband and his principal have had some differences of opinion on discipline (ie -a student physically threatened him and she would not allow him to report it). when it came time for his evaluation she lied and said he had refused to perform duties as outlined in his master contract -this is absolutely not true! when he asked her for a specific list of duties he refused, she said she would not give him a list. He went to the superintendent who told him not to worry about it because she had said positive things about his teaching abilities. then this month, we find out he is being nonrenewed. the school board makes this decision and votes according to a principal's recommendation and evaluations. if the information on the evaluation was false and this caused him to lose his job, does he have a slander case?
also: she went to a convention with my principal and two of the other teachers in my building. they all came back and told me that she bad-mouthed him the whole week. Thanks
