Slander by Former Apt. Resident and Store Director, and Assualted by a Security Guard
The Story:
I went to a store and asked a former resident of my apt complex if he'd sign a paper that I could show to a judge to show I didn't need anger therapy. I asked if he'd sign it, then when he said no because he didn't want it on his record, I said well at least keep it in case you change your mind, and he said ok. A coworker next to him asked what "that" was about, and he didn't look at him and said, "nothing," and I left. And note this same person had said hi to me in a friendly way and walked past me in the store a few days earlier, so he knew I wasn't out to get him.
A few days later I showed it to one of his managers, and asked her if an employees outside behavior mattered, and she said yes, so I showed her a copy of what I gave him (with a sarcastic spin saying he was a coward, and I explained that, and told her to do what she wanted with it. She apparently talked with him and in retaliation he called my apartment manager who said it was her business to talk with me about it because I was her resident. He admitted I saved his life and had gotten drunk around me, that's all I know, and she left me alone afterwards. Is that slander and can he be sued for that?
A few days later I applied for a job at that store, and a manager came to the front and overlooked the cash registers near me. She didn't seem to be paying attention to me. I took their unicru test, and found it had Christian-unfriendly questions, and so wrote a suggestion on a note and put in their note box saying they should get rid of it. I wrote it in a friendly manner. Before finishing the test I asked this manager what they were hiring for and she told me, and I asked if I should bother finishing the test, I forget why, but she replied to do what I wanted with it and they'd keep it for 60 days. I finished it and put the note in the suggestion box afterwards.
A few days later I came to shop there, and even put a shopping list on my thumbdrive. The security guard who was the same one there as usual and always saw me there, started following me around, and at first I thought maybe this was to see if I was a thief, since I stay there a while before buying anything, but I do buy things there as my reciept shows, so I put up with it for a few minutes. He kept it up and then I thought maybe this was a test to see if I had a bad temper to see if the employee I complained about was right about me harassing him, so I waited a few minutes longer for him to leave me alone. But then it got intolerable and embarassing because he started standing next to me near employees, and that made me look bad. I finally went to the front to show them my shopping list to show there was nothing to fear, and a manager came and went to get the store director's permission. She came to me (and this was the one who talked to me the day I took the test) and had my note in her hand, and looked down at it and asked to come outside to talk with me, she kept starring down at the note and walked out and I tried to tell her that I felt awful because I just filed a complaint about my previous work experience there with an employee in the Deli who dropped a chicken on the floor and put it back up for sale, but do to poor managment I decided not say anything. But she kept talking over me, and told me they didn't let anyone stick anything in there computers in a sarcastic way, and that she didn't want me to come back into the store. I asked why, and she said because I was harassing the employees. I asked her what employees, and she said that was for her to know. She then held out the note and I thought she was giving it to me, and she snatched it back. I repeated that I filed a complaint and she didn't let me finish and said, "You don't even know us"
She asked if I was refusing to leave and I stepped off the property of the store, and told her I wasn't on it, she then said Whole Foods owned the whole plaza, which I knew was abusurd, so I refused to leave, she then got on her walktie talkie or something and said, "we have a 511" and the security guard came up to me and told me to leave, and I said whole foods owns the whole plaza? And he looked over the parking lot and said, "Yeah they own the plaza" (by the way he had no id on him to show what he was other than a shirt that said security), I refused to leave and he pushed me and said, "Leave!" and I grabbed a hold of a pole and he began twisting my arm and then the other, and I shouted asking him why he was doing that, and he finally stopped, and I stepped int he doorway of another store, and said, "Does whole foods own chico's too?" and he replied, "Yeah I'm sure they want you there."
I called the police as soon as I got back in my right mind and they came searched me, and told me he was in charge of the whole property and told me to leave, and that they didn't want me there because they believed I was harassing their employees.
I had also applied for a job at Borders there.
Did the security guard do anything wrong to me, and do I have a case against the director for harassment or slander?
It seems like the guard should have showed me his id or been wearing it, and if he was in charge of the whole property why is he always standing in front of the registers in fresh fields? Shouldn't he be outside in his truck to catch anyone who steals at the plaza? Could the guard have lied to the officers and really only been in charge of the Whole Foods, and the officers have no way of knowing?
Also, I was searched in front of Borders, the managers surely saw that and I go to that store often, could I get damages for that?
I was banned from the plaza.
